Re/Connect: Waterloo Region
Re/Connect
Waterloo Region
Real estate is a community business. Every transaction is rooted in a neighbourhood, a street, a group of people. Re/Connect was our way of putting that belief into action, and together we raised $1,023 for Nutrition for Learning.
On June 25th, 2026, we hosted Re/Connect Waterloo Region, a networking and fundraiser night held right here at our office at Unit 201 - 215 Queen St. W in Cambridge. The room filled with local business owners, partners, and community members, all gathered around a shared goal: connect with each other, and do some good while we're at it.
This was not a gala or a black-tie affair. It was a night in our own space, built around the idea that the strongest communities are built one genuine connection at a time.

Nutrition for Learning is a Waterloo Region charity with a straightforward and vital mission: make sure kids can focus in class by making sure they are not hungry. Every day, they provide free breakfast and snack programs to students across Waterloo Region's schools, reaching tens of thousands of children who might otherwise start their day on an empty stomach.
Their programs operate in elementary and secondary schools across Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, and the surrounding communities. Food is provided regardless of a family's ability to pay, because the belief is simple: a child who has eaten is a child who can learn.
"School food for all" is more than a slogan. For Nutrition for Learning, it is a daily commitment carried out in hundreds of school kitchens across our region, every single morning.
They are well-known enough that most parents in Waterloo Region have heard of them, but the scale of what they do is easy to underestimate. This is exactly the kind of local, hands-on charity that deserves the support of the business community, and we were proud to make them the beneficiary of our first Re/Connect event.
As real estate professionals operating in this region, we believe it is our responsibility to give back to the communities we serve. It is not something we do for optics. It is something we feel is part of the job.
Every deal we close is connected to a neighbourhood. Every buyer we help is planting roots somewhere in Waterloo Region. Every seller we represent has built a life in this community. That is not just a transaction, it is a relationship with the place itself. And that relationship comes with a responsibility to make the place better.
Charities that work directly in our communities, protecting and supporting the people who live here, deserve the backing of local business. We want to help in whatever way we can. Re/Connect is one way we are putting that into practice.
There is also something genuinely valuable that happens when you bring the right people into a room together. Businesses strengthen each other. Partnerships get formed. People who share a region but have never met suddenly find themselves working toward something. Re/Connect was designed to make that happen, with a charitable purpose at the centre of it.
Every dollar raised went directly to Nutrition for Learning. None of this happens without the businesses who said yes, who showed up, and who brought their networks along with them. The generosity of everyone in that room on June 25th is what made the number possible.
A special shout-out to F45 Training for bringing all three of their Waterloo Region locations on board as sponsors — Conestoga, Belmont, and Sportsworld. That kind of all-in commitment meant a lot.
Re/Connect exists because local businesses chose to be part of it. A genuine thank you to each of the following for their support:
The next Re/Connect event will be announced before the end of 2026. We are already planning it, and we want to make the next one bigger. More people in the room, more raised for a local cause, more of what made the first one worth doing.
If you want to stay in the loop on event announcements, follow along on Instagram. We will post everything there first.
@reconnect_wr on Instagram for updates on the next event, sponsor announcements, and everything happening with Re/Connect Waterloo Region.
If you are a local business interested in being part of the next event, reach out. We would love to have you in the room.
